TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Beverly. The last time the US won Olympic gold in menโs hockey, Kramer vs. Kramer won best picture, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was the Billboard Hot 100 number one song, and gas was $1.25 per gallon.

THE DIGEST
Beverly Snow Recovery: Everything You Need to Know โ๏ธ
Below is a rundown of everything you should know related to our recent blizzard:
๐ The parking ban has been lifted and all municipal offices are open again.
๐๏ธ Trash and recycling pickup are delayed one day this week.
โ๏ธ Beverly maintains a Snow Center page where you can find updates like parking status, trash delays, and more.
๐ The MBTA stated we should expect reduced parking availability as snow clearing operations are expected to last several days. Also, signal improvement work is ongoing this weekend, so shuttle buses will replace trains between North Station and Swampscott on the Newburyport/Rockport Line.
๐ A reminder to keep fire hydrants accessible and clear them out if you can, as this saves crews important time in emergency situations.
๐งโ๐ The Beverly Fire Department reminds residents to clear snow from low-lying appliance exhausts to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.
๐ ICYMI: Check out the awesome way school cancellation was announced earlier this week.
๐จ๏ธ Andโฆ.We might see 1 to 3 more inches of snow today.

Taking the Plunge for Shoebert ๐ฆญ
Beverlyโs favorite wayward seal is the inspiration behind the โShoebert Goes Homeโ polar plunge at Lynch Park on March 1. The event runs from 11 am - 1 pm, and you can register here to take the dip at noon to support Lifebridge and Family Promise in their mission to aid unhoused neighbors across the North Shore.
Dispatch Deficit ๐จ
Beverlyโs City Council just approved $160,000 to cover a sudden overtime shortfall in the newly combined emergency dispatch department. High turnover and training requirements created a "perfect storm" that local leaders hope to stabilize before 2027 budget talks begin. Beverly budget analyst Gerry Perry noted he did not anticipate this request, though he was assured that Mayor Cahillโs office โdoes not intendโ to ask for additional funds this year. This overtime request hits the books just as Beverly prepares for a projected $3.9 million deficit heading into FY 2027.
What else is buzzing ๐
๐ Despite the recent $6 million sale of the property to Goldberg Properties, Henryโs Market is staying exactly where it is.
๐๏ธ Registration for Summer Camp at Lynch Park will open to residents on March 2 at 10 am. Registration will be first come first served.
๐ช Best Chef tickets are now on sale! The event takes place on April 10 at the Boston Marriott Peabody.
๐จ Calling all artists! Applications are open for the Red Fence Gallery mural in downtown beverly (due March 2), and the Garden Party Art Installation with Beverly 400+ (due March 16).
๐ฅ Shovel your car out and head downtown for Restaurant Week Beverly, which ends this Sunday. You wonโt want to miss out on these deals.
๐ด Northshore Magazine shared a list of 10 great spots for clam chowder on the North Shore, including some nearby spots like Woodmanโs in Essex, Turnerโs Seafood in Salem, and Decklynโs in Gloucester.
