THE DIGEST
New Daniella's Location Coming to Cabot Street π
The North Shore Hospitality Group is set to open a new location of Daniella's Ristorante on Cabot Street in the next few weeks. The upcoming Daniella's on Cabot represents continued growth for the hospitality company, which already operates the popular Daniella's Ristorante in Peabody, Daniellaβs CafΓ© in Danvers, Pellana Prime Steakhouse in Peabody, and Daniellaβs Suites, a boutique hotel next to Daniellaβs Ristorante. The menu will feature signature dishes from our other two Daniella's locations, complemented by special pre- and post-theater dining options tailored for those attending shows at The Cabot and our other local theaters. The new restaurant will take over the location on Cabot Street that Ellis Square Social previously occupied. RIP to Ellis Square Social, a great spot for a cocktail.
Beverly Teachers Union Battles State Over Strike Fine Amount π°
One year after the Beverly Teachers Association (BTA) strike, they're back in court fighting the state over the remaining $700,000 in fines. The BTA, citing a "precarious" financial state, is requesting the judge reduce the payment to $350,000 and allow it to be donated to Beverly Bootstraps over 10 years. However, the state can't find a legal precedent for paying fines to a third party. In the meantime, the state continues to insist on the BTA paying the full fine. The court rulings offer no timeline for the judge's decision.
If it were up to the parents who filed a class action lawsuit against the Beverly teachers union, itβd come in at the price tag of:

Note: The lawsuit is on hold.
YMCA's Annual Gala Brings in Record $1.5 Million for Community Programs π
The Beverly YMCA's Wanderlust Ball proved to be a major fundraising success, with more than 475 guests in attendance, generating $1.5 million to support programs across the North Shore. The annual gala continues the organization's tradition of bringing the community together while raising funds to continue to support the ever-growing and diverse needs of all the individuals, families, and children the YMCA serves.
