THE DIGEST
Rock Voices North Shore Donates a TON of Food to Beverly Bootstraps π₯
Last week, the members of Rock Voices North Shore donated 1,869 pounds of food to Beverly Bootstraps. The donation challenge was spearheaded by Rock Voices members Alta Fleming and Shari Hewson. Each Rock Voices concert selects a local charity to benefit from baskets raffled off during the performance, but this donation was a separate effort members felt inspired to support in response to the urgent need of food pantries. Rock Voices is a no-audition adult choir that only sings rock music. Their mission is βhealing ourselves and others through song.β Well done, team Rock Voices!
Speaking of Beverly Bootstraps: Giving Tuesday is less than one week awayβand this year, your generosity will have twice the impact. A generous donor has offered a $10,000 matching gift that doubles every dollar you give to Beverly Bootstraps. If you have the means to give back, consider doubling your impact by donating here.

Chef Petros Markopoulos opened Luna Mare in August, featuring Mediterranean small plates with locally sourced ingredients in Ipswich. The restaurant sources oysters from Rowley purveyors and produce from Marini Farm.
Community Rallies Behind Beverly Teen, Raising Nearly $15K After Shooting π
A GoFundMe campaign for 15-year-old Darianna Cruz, who was shot at her Beverly home last month, has raised $14,800. The Cruz family launched the fundraiser to help cover expenses as Darianna recovers from seven surgeries, a stroke, and other complications from her injuries. Cruz was flown to the ICU after suffering the gunshot wound on the evening of October 14. Family members reported that she had stabilized and was showing signs of improvement as of November 12. The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $6,000 more to support the family during this difficult time.
