π Free Summer Concert Series is back!
The Kernwood Bridge is temporarily closed, The Cabot is about to temporarily close for the summer, some great summer events to look forward to, and plenty of great events to enjoy this week.

Good morning, Beverly. Today is National Cheese Day. Forget your lactose intolerance for a day and enjoy some sharp cheddar in your eggs, Swiss cheese in your sandwich, and a little Pecorino Romano on your pasta tonight.

THE DIGEST
Temporary Closure of the Kernwood Bridge π
The Kernwood Avenue Bridge connecting Beverly and Salem is closed for six weeks. The bridge closed this Monday at 6 AM and will remain closed through July 11th for repairs to its steel grid deck and structural components.
A signed detour route using Veterans Memorial Bridge and Liberty Street is now in place for vehicles. Cyclists and pedestrians also have alternate routes available to them, inclusive of the signed detour, as well as the Hall-Whitaker Bridge, which remains open to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Below is a picture of the detour route, provided by the City of Salem.
This closure is necessary to maintain the bridge's viability during the ongoing construction of the Hall-Whitaker Drawbridge, which has been closed to traffic since 2022 and isn't expected to have a temporary replacement until 2027. Neither bridge is anticipated to be fully replaced until 2033.

The Cabot will temporarily shut its doors on June 15 for renovations and plans to reopen in mid-September. Brian Ridolfo, Executive Director of The Cabot, noted, βWe look forward to welcoming our community back in September to a revitalized theater that honors our historic legacy while stepping boldly into the future.β
The Beverly Recreation Free Summer Concert Series is back! The series will feature over two dozen shows from June 6 to August 14, taking place at Lynch Park (Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays) and the Beverly Commons Gazebo (Thursdays). Most concerts will run from 6 to 8 PM. You can find the list of free concerts here.
Northshore Magazine shared a list of events at six venues across the North Shore this summer. With The Cabot shutting down for a few months on June 15, itβs good to have options.
A tip of the cap to the Endicott baseball team βΎοΈ π§’
The nationally ranked Endicott baseball team saw its 2025 College World Series run come to an end on Monday morning, as it suffered an 8-2 loss to Messiah. However, we canβt let that be the story of their season.
Endicott went 45-6 this year, with an impressive 27-0 record at home. The Gulls reached the national semifinals for the first time in program history, and Endicott is the only program to reach the College World Series in each of the last three seasons. Although the year didnβt finish the way they would have hoped, it was an incredible season with some spectacular runs of dominance by the Gulls.
What else is buzzing π
π¨ Arts Fest Beverly 2025 starts next Thursday and runs through next Saturday. It will include over 100 artists and vendors and host some great performances.
