Special Election for State Representative is May 13 🏢 

Below are some key reminders as we rapidly approach election day:

• Per State Law on Special Elections, we will not have ‘in-person early voting hours’ at City Hall.

• You can come into the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours up until noon on Monday, May 12th, and absentee vote if you will not be in Beverly on Election Day.

• You can also request a vote-by-mail ballot.

• All ballots must be received no later than 8 PM on May 13th.

• You can use this link to confirm you’re an active registered voter. The voter registration cutoff was on May 3rd.

The people have spoken: Survey takeaways 📓 

First, I’d like to thank you all for the feedback. There was so much valuable information, and many kind messages. It makes me proud to be a part of this community, and I’m incredibly grateful for your support 🥹. Also, congratulations to Sharon Amos! Sharon is the winner of the $50 Soma gift card for participating in the survey last week. Now, onto the results:

• We’re not making any major changes. Most sections are used by many.

• I will work to include more local sports and even more live music.

• We have people in their 20s through 80s in this community, which I love!

• Many asked for children's events and free events. Those are already included under the “Kid and Family Events” section. I strive to include plenty of free library events in and around Beverly. If I’m missing the age range for your kids, please let me know!

• 🍔 A&B Burgers and Fibber McGee's were most commonly voted the best burger in town.

2025 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday 🥫 

Leave a bag of non-perishable food donations by your mailbox on May 10th, and your postal worker will collect and deliver these to local food pantries, like Beverly Bootstraps!

What else is buzzing 🐝 

• 🍺 The Anchor Pub & Grille outdoor bar opens this Friday!

• 🏫 The Farms Branch library is still closed and plans to reopen at the end of May/early June.

• 💐 Mother’s Day is this Sunday, and the Beverly Downtown Mom Crawl occurs on Saturday. Do yourself a favor and grab something nice for the moms in your life; they deserve it.

• 🚰 The drought status remains unchanged, as we’re still categorized as a Level 2, Significant Drought. Hopefully, this lovely rain helps us out.

• 🪪 The REAL ID deadline is today. If you haven’t updated your license, but have plans to travel, you can use the TSA acceptable identity guidelines.

• 👩‍⚕️ It’s National Nurses Week!

This is the closest I’ve ever been to big leaguers! This is a snapshot of the Beverly Little League 75th anniversary parade on Saturday, May 3rd. The event was filled with pride and smiles from hundreds of families. Here’s to 75 more years!

PET OF THE WEEK

Meet Louie! This 7-year-old guy is as cute as can be and is ready to find his forever home! Louie lives a low-key life and would prefer a home without children due to their germy little fingers. He’s been rehomed a few times due to previous owners’ life circumstances, so he takes some time to warm up. Once he gets to know you, his silly side comes out!
